We all need to be open minded and talk openly about depression, it is a mental health illness. It better to offer support than just tell them to get over it. By saying this can cause them to feel worse and close up and not talk about how their feeling.
If you suspect someone having depression encourage the to talk and seek medical help and go with them for moral support.
Each person experiences depression differently and it has a detrimental effect on their life, with results in an inability to function with everyday tasks.
If we’re able to recognize depression and it’s symptoms we’re more likely to be supportive and non-judgmental with a better understanding of why that person is acting that way, be able to sit with them and listen, give encouragement when needed, or help with daily tasks and remember not to be to demanding of them.
